The Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer, even though not perfect, is among the best if not the best for sale at the moment, including the iPad. Why the Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u? Quality product with quality construction. Bright clear display with a solid body frame. I selected this product over the Kindle Fire and over other tablets because of the USB port enabling up and down loads for MP3′s and books. I can transfer items by WI-FI but this allows direct connections to my computer and backup hard drives. I’m glad to have the USB port for future options.
The screen is gorgeous, LED-backlit and with Gorilla Glass no need for screen protector! Speakers are exceptional! The sound on the Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer is really good, I was kind of surprised, for such a small thing to have such good sound. The screen quality is great and I love the motion backgrounds. Wireless speed is fine, 32GB is plenty. Execution speed is fast and everything I care about runs without issues. I’ve never had Honeycomb crash on me. This thing is FAST! Runs very smooth, great graphics. I surf the web, get my gmail, get my Outlook mail, IM, buy apps, play games, check the weather, read books and it’s a blast.

When looking for a tablet, there are several things that seem to be important from a functional perspective: 1) Battery Life 2) Operating System 3) Expandability. On these three areas, the Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u wins out. The battery life is multiple days. Using it on and off for two days straight, never shutting it off, I never ran out of battery. The listed battery life is 6 hours, which must be at full brightness, full use. However, for the way I use it, it lasted for 36 hours before I plugged it in again. As for the OS, It’s very up to date with the latest upgrade (Honeycomb 4.1). If you need your tablet to work in an enterprise environment, or want to do actual work, you’re most likely going to require Windows. The Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer runs on Windows 7 very well, making good use of the SSD and DDR3 memory to make its performance come in above expectations. Great connectivity options. I love having the option of an SD slot or a USB port. The HDMI port is terrific to connect to the HDTV.
After one month of use I’m very pleased with my Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u. For the price, this exceeds my expectation in performance.
